Health Care Access in Texas: The Fight for Full Practice Authority

As Texas prepares for the 87th Legislative Session, tackling problems posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and Texas’s ongoing health care access challenges will be front and center of the legislative agenda. Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, or APRNs, will be a key part of the policy conversation on how to increase competition and choice in the health care market, improve access, and reduce costs for businesses, consumers, and the state. Join moderator Erin Cusack of Texas Nurse Practitioners and our panelists Jamie Dudensing of the Texas Association of Health Plans, Sam Sheetz of Americans for Prosperity, and Blake Huston of AARP-Texas as they discuss the need to cut the red tape in health care and modernize licensing and regulatory requirements for APRNs this session.
